About Lena

I’ve been giving private lessons for over 12 years and I would love to share with you my knowledge of French language, literature and history. I have an academic background (PhD in philology) and continue my academic research which concerns bilingual authors, translation and bilingualism in general. Having had the privilege to teach in different countries, I worked for state and public institutions, literary societies and charity organisations. I’m very experienced in helping children, adolescents and adult students with various backgrounds. Having spent in France more than 20 years, I’ll be happy to provide you with some insights into French culture, history and traditions, enriching your understanding and appreciation of the language.

About the lesson

My objective is to understand how you learn things and then to organise each lesson so that you start using your strong points to unlock your full potential. I never charge any money for my first lesson. It’s the best moment to discuss together your dreams and goals: why and what for you are learning the language. I focus on creating a relaxed and stress-free learning environment, where each lesson is designed to be enjoyable and engaging. My lessons are usually one hour long, but I recommend shorter sessions for young children, considering their attention spans and comfort levels. While I have extensive experience in teaching through platforms like Zoom and Skype, I always advocate for one-on-one in-person communication when learning a language. There is simply no substitute for the richness and effectiveness of live interaction.
