Her success building relationships and partnerships with students and parents is well-known, as she works with learning differences, as well as gifted and talented learners. She encourages each child to become an independent thinker and creator, stretching their resilience and flexibility to solve problems in their increasingly complex world.
Along with being a teacher, Anne enriches and strengthens teams of teachers when in an administrative role. Anne served as Vice-Chair of the Academic Advisory Committee for independent schools in Virginia, Maryland and D.C. As an administrative leader, she led faculty in richly rewarding curriculum programs and produced differentiated programs suitable to students with varying academic needs. Anne’s role as academic dean also strengthened her understanding of student assessment K-8 grades. Anne works with students to strengthen their skills in many content areas, including reading, phonics, writing, decoding accuracy, fluency, vocabulary growth and comprehension. Modeling literacy teaching strategies and developing literacy plans to address immediate and long-term student needs has been exciting for her. She is a motivating force, understanding of how young mathematicians think and pursues her passion for engaging children who need a clearer understanding of how math works in our everyday world. Anne sees a clear connection between what her students learn under her supervision and accentuates the application of those skills in every session. Her students range from 5-12th grade.
