I started my tutoring career in high school, where I did year round after-school (and summer school) tutoring for elementary school students. In college, I continued tutoring and coaching at my school’s (San Diego State University) library in a volunteer/TA role.
My specializations are in Math, Writing, Reading Comprehension, Science, Social Studies and Public Speaking.
I am also fully vaccinated and am willing to wear a mask. That being said, if virtual sessions are preferable, we can do that as well.
I am available any time after 6pm on weekdays, and I am flexible on weekends. My strategy on Saturday/Sunday is to start or finish the session with a reward, since no student (or adult) likes working on weekends. So if your child enjoys basketball, we shoot hoops for 15 minutes before/after the session. If they like video games, we can incorporate that somehow.
I charge $40/hour, and I always like to set up a casual introductory 15-30 minute visit before we start, which is free.
Feel free to message me here, or text/call at (concealed information)
My passion for tutoring/teaching started in high school, where I volunteered at my local church for the “homework club”. I did this for four years before graduating, at which point I began studying Communications at San Diego State University, where I continued tutoring in a TA role. While in college, I also coached multiple students and peers in a mentor ship role where we focused on mental, spiritual and physical health and fitness.
In my free time, I am a full-time student of everything! I like to hike, read and meditate, and am very excited to share how those practices have changed my life with my students. More than anything, I tutor to serve my community. If I can change one life for the better through tutoring/coaching, I’ve done my job!
