My approach to tutoring is to explain concepts in a way that involves active participation. I find that it is best to spend a small amount of the session connecting with the student, as this gives me a better idea of how to explain a topic. I give lessons from middle school to college-level courses.
By earning a degree in astrophysics at the University of Washington, I encountered a diverse set of peers. While also pursuing course work in Spanish, I acquired a strong cultural understanding and discovered my true passion. I have worked in a special collections library, a setting of which included attention to detail and research, which helped cultivate my resourcefulness and assisted me with my passion for the Spanish language and history. In the workplace and classroom, I have had many opportunities to use my Spanish skills, which involved daily conversation and writing. I am working to achieve fluency in Spanish by taking classes at a local language school and immersing myself in the language at home, which helps when working to improve global trade, business relations, and creating a diverse community in which every neighbor feels welcome.
