Methodology
My teaching approach is very technique focused. At times, this means that it may take longer to "learn a song", but the goal is to improve technique as early and quickly as possible so that learning new songs in the future is significantly easier.
Background
I am a lifelong musician, having played piano, violin, guitar, bass guitar, and some drums throughout my life. I have a Bachelor's degree from UC San Diego's Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts (ICAM) - Music program. I spent a lot of my undergrad career performing with the Musicians' Club at UCSD, regularly performing music from many different genres with a variety of musicians. Currently I am active in three local metal bands as a vocalist, bassist, and songwriter, and I write and perform music solo as well. My musical interests and experience spans acoustic, classical, rock, and metal genres, and I am looking forward to sharing my expertise with you!
