About Yelsse
I am a native Spanish speaker who decided to improve their Spanish in college and by studying abroad in Ecuador for half a year. I became a Spanish teacher through the Teach for America program in LA. I received my teaching credentials at Loyola Marymount. I also taught Spanish in Las Vegas for an additional three years. Students choose me to tutor them because I make Spanish learning less intimidating and I have the patience to work with students step-by-step. I have taught Spanish to high-school age to people in their 60s. I ask a lot of check-for-understanding questions to ensure learning is happening throughout the lesson. I make sure to keep students accountable and that every minute in the lesson is worth it!
