I love helping students pinpoint the academic (and other) roadblocks keeping them from success, and then finding the materials and strategies to apply for each to be successful.
The sessions should be times for hard work and success (and, hopefully, some laughs). In the end, I want my students to leave with ideas of how and where to find their own answers.
I have earned a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology (the study of our development, motivation, and memory, etc. as it applies to how we learn).

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a minor in Reading Education.
My teaching career has spanned 40 years, and I have often worked as a private tutor during that time. That's too many students to count, but occasionally, one will find me on Facebook and fill me in about his or her life as an adult! (Some have become teachers!)
I have worked as Language Arts Department Coordinator for two middle schools. In 2004 I was awarded Teacher of the Year at my school.
Because I love my work, I believe I'm successful finding ways to motivate my students to love something about theirs!
