I am a mathematics teacher teaching both high school and college students. I prefer to teach using practical work approach to visualize the concepts in math which are mostly abstract. I want my students to enjoy while learning that is why most of the time I use games in introducing a lesson if possible.
I taught in the high school for 12 years and in the college for around 28 years. In the high school, we were given a minimum of 60 students per class with a minimum of 6 classes per school year to teach. Fortunately, we often won in math contests that we joined. My students did well in college and most of them are successful in their chosen career too.
Actually I haven't tried being a mentor/tutor here in the US yet but I'm just making calculations. I believe I can adjust the rates I specified.
