About Clara
I have experience tutoring my peers on my grade level, as well as middle schoolers. I finished school with a 3.9 GPA, as well as outstanding regents scores. I have an easy time understanding people and discovering the root of a problem when it comes to learning and I'm excited to work with new students!

My lessons are for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders looking for assistance on particularly algebra, geometry, and any other work under or related to those courses. When I teach my students, I find that it's helpful to look back on my time in their shoes and use that perspective to better explain the material. As a student myself, I'm always learning new ways to improve the environment I teach in and have a fresh perspective on how to overcome learning blocks. I will always make sure I'm moving at a comfortable pace and do multiple recaps and check-ins along the way of the lesson, as well as lots of examples and practice if I'm teaching any new material. I'm always open to suggestions from my students on what I can do to further help them grasp concepts. At the beginning of the lesson we do homework review and go over any classwork confusions. I like to stay ahead of lessons by using any extra time in the session to teach my students an elaboration of what they're learning to establish a deeper understanding of the subject. I teach what I suspect they'll later be taught in the year with the intentions of preparing them for the future and helping them stay ahead of the class. For geometry students I have them keep a resource notebook to reference while studying for finals, and have them fill it out for homework, if their teacher doesn't already require it.
