I firmly believe when learning a language the Direct Method (no translation) is the most effective. I was trained in while working for an English Company in the language industry. I base my courses or services on an initial evaluation to establish level based on the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) though my main focus on the latter, which in my opinion is the weakest, mainly, due to lack of practice and or confidence. My sessions are interactive and practical, depending on my student's needs.
Born in NY, partly raised in Latin America, I feel my multicultural upbringing has a lot to do with my passion for travel, communications and international relations. I went to College in Boston, MA obtaining a BA in Economics and later continued post graduate studies in Public Relations, in Madrid, Spain. While living in Madrid I pursued a career in TOEFL training for professionals, remaining in the industry there for 8 years. Upon my return to the US, I continued teaching hundreds of international students in various language schools, and was the Director of inlingua, Tampa, for almost five years. Currently as a freelancer, I offer one on one sessions, specialized in Business English, Vocabulary Building and Advanced Conversational English.
Cancellation policy: must be notified 24 hours in advance, minimum.
I recommend a minimum duration per class of 90 minutes.
