About the lesson
I like to maintain as much flexibility as possible when helping someone with their writing - I am open to being approached at any point in the writing process. Mainly I want to know as much as I can from the student about their thought process and what they want to write about, even with a finished essay, before I begin. Basically, my approach is student-driven: I want to work based on the interests and motivations of the student. It is also good to know before-hand what is important to a student when assessing their writing because it allows me to determine how clearly and effectively their intent came across in what I wrote.
Expect high involvement from me, including a lot of input. But I want to operate with the student at the center of the operation.

About Brandon
I have a BSc in Childhood Education with Special Education (with a concentration in History) and an MA in History Today. In my undergraduate coursework, I was writing an average of 5 essays per semester; during my graduate studies, I wrote four research papers, a scholarly article, and a master's thesis. Alongside my experience in writing, I have tutored in writing to both students working toward their GED and students within academia. As far as extracurricular activities go, I wrote articles for the quarterly magazine for my futsal association and was President of the Activities Committee for my university's Debate Team.
Beyond coursework and extracurricular activities, I have also helped students earn scholarships by coaching them on the style and argumentation of their letters of motivation and have even taken referrals from others to help strangers with their letters of motivation.

If I need to cancel or shorten the time of an appointment, I feel it is my responsibility to try and schedule a new appointment to make up for what was missed. If you need to miss an appointment, please be sure to confirm our next scheduled session or reach out to make a new one. Because you, as the student, are in the driver's seat, reaching out will show that you are still motivated to improve your writing; so long as you are motivated to learn, I am motivated to teach! As for different pricing for ability level...I do not believe in that sort of thing and all ability levels are welcome!
