I start with the basics. Suppose I am teaching perimeter. First, I explain the formation of the perimeter formula: Perimeter = sum of outer boundary. If we have to find the perimeter of a land, i.e., (2 lengths + 2 breadths) Perimeter = 2(l+b). No need to learn the formula.
