Industry professional bass player and Berklee College of Music Grad offering private lesson in LA or remote

Methodology

My teaching method varies slightly from student to student, but I generally believe that the best way for students to learn is by using music that they love as the fuel of our material. Using this, we study rhythm (a lot of rhythm), harmony, bass line creation, jazz, technique, and whatever else my student may be interested in.

Background

I've been playing bass for 11 years, and have been active in the touring and pop scene for 5 of them. After studying at Berklee College of Music, my career took off and I've had the opportunity to play for Tia Ray, Nana Ouyang, Insaneintherain, and other renowned musicians. I've been tutoring for 4 years and have loved being able to share my passion with others.

Alan is not only a skilled musician but he is great with people. He makes the students feel comfortable by making sure they understand everything he is teaching them, and stays with them each step of the way. He's very detailed in that he makes are that the students perfect everything that is taught to them, no matter how simple the chart or song may be. I believe he will have any student learning the bass in no time but most importantly having fun.
