About Steven

I have a PhD in History, including writing a dissertation; teaching history, language arts, social sciences courses on-line and on-the-ground at the high school and university levels; I have been teaching for over 15 years and am now retired. I now substitute grades K thru 12, comfortable with students of all ages.

My teaching approach is interactive, a Socratic question-response experience. Students are required to read books and articles, both historical and contemporary, and write reports on what they have read. Written tests provide additional assessment, both weekly and at the conclusion of the session.
