About the lesson

My teaching method varies depending on the needs of the student- a visual and an auditory learner, for instance, will not succeed in the same environment! In the first couple of lessons, I like to establish a base for learning with each of my students as I get to know their strengths and target areas for improvement. If the student has worksheets or assignments prepared from school that they would like to work on, we prioritize those in the lessons, but general theory and reading comprehension is also incorporated into every meeting. Standardized test prep is accomplished in stages that mirror the structure of the exam with consistent vocabulary overview. I also offer online essay editing at $25/ hr rate

About Nicky

I am a recent master's graduate in Biological and Environmental Sciences and Science Writing the University of Rhode Island. My undergraduate education at Amherst College, where I majored in Biology and Environmental Studies, was a writing intensive program that encouraged exploring interdisciplinary studies. Editing and writing organization continue to be some of my most used skills from my education. Projects in ecology, papers in sociology, and data analysis training have provided me with analytical and creative lenses for my writing.
