Since middle school the Social Sciences has always been a strong interest of mine; even up through high school & into college. I love various parts of history including Civil Rights/Black History, WW2, etc. Psychology & Sociology is where some of my deepest knowledge & passions lie; even to the extent of it being my major in college. Depending on the student's learning style & lessons they are covering will decide how I go about teaching my lesson & what tasks/assignments I give the student to expand their knowledge in a given area. I learn the student first (learning style, interests, skills, strengths/weaknesses), then what it is they're needing assistance with (subject &/or project, etc) & I blend the 2 to create a plan so that the student comes out successful. Who knows-maybe I can help spark a love for the field or subject?
I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in various elementary, middle, & high schools since 2014, as well as assisted students on campus while attending UW-Milwaukee. I have a love for learning and I love to help each student find their niche when it comes to not only what they learn but how they learn. I believe that these are ingredients to being a successful student. I have also worked one-on-one with students with ADD & Asperger's (I have ADD myself) so I understand the various complexities & hurdles to learning that can come with it.
Rate listed is base rate. Other factors include education level of student, complexity of subject or needs, and any possible travel required.
