About the lesson

My teaching method is to formally or informally assess the student's skills and needs. I always use the strength of the student as a beginning so we can begin at a place they find comfortable. We then address their ultimate goals and I design each session to make a progression for them. I often recycle older material to assess how the student is retaining the material.
I can use any material to help the student: classroom work or homework- or the materials I have. I am able to work things around using any materials to reach the goal.
Enjoyment is crucial to my teaching. I find the level the student is happy with- and it may take me hours of preparation to do so.

About Lynda

Teacher/tutor for over 24 years for reading, writing and grammar as well as German and SAT prep. Many of my students returned to my class for repeating years when the school permitted. That continuity made for some deep learning and encouraged my students to pursue our subject after high school. My private tutoring students also stay with me for years because I present the material as something to be explored not dictated. I have my BA from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, my Masters from Wesleyan and Middlebury Colleges. I am flexible and can customize learning for each student's needs.
