I approach each student as an individual, with unique needs and interests, and tailor my lessons to them. I think language learning is best when it is enjoyable and feels natural, but also want to give my students clear takeaways for each lesson, and so I emphasize points that I believe will really help them in the future.
I have been a language teacher abroad for 5 years, primarily teaching English, but now excited to bring Japanese learning opportunities back to America. I primarily taught adults for 3.5 years, and primarily taught children for 1.5 years. I've taught in one-on-one and classroom settings. In Japanese, I've reached the N2 level, and have spoken it full-time in classroom and work settings.
