About the lesson
My teaching method is to help ignite our own power, which we all have from within. Bringing awareness back to the body by awakening the mind and cleansing the soul. With the aid of techniques such as breath work, vigorous vinyasa and ashtanga flows we will awaken the best and authentic version of you. Not only will these teachings help you ignite your own power as well as rejuvenate, but it will also relax the mind through pranayama and relaxing yin flows. These classes and journey which you will embark on, will have you feeling re-born and balance.

Hiya! Super excited to be in this path and journey with you. I have been practicing & studying the philosophies of Yoga for about 7 years. This fall I became a 200hr certified Instructor through the AFPA organization. I’m so honored to be able to share my practice as well as knowledge with as many of you interested in it. Looking forward meeting you all.

1) What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.
I have always been involved in sports. While growing up my stepdad used to play softball, so my siblings and I will always play amongst us.
When I was in Elementary School I joined their basketball team and during our P.E hour I enjoyed all the sports practiced. I used to run in our field days and on thanksgiving the schools did a turkey marathon and the top three runners would get a free turkey, I was always on the top three. When I got to Middle School I joined the volleyball team and I was the MVP of the team for the whole season. I have always been a team player and love sports. I also did and do Dance as a lifestyle. I dance in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Ballroom, Hip Hop, etc.
2) What are your favorite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?
My favorite sport that I have played at a high level will be volleyball. I enjoy running too and I do running more like a hobby. A sport that I'd like to discover is cricket. I have seen it on TV but I have never played it myself and I find it very interesting and fun.
3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?
Personally I do not consider Yoga a sport, although, a lot of people can and do benefit from yoga in a physical level as a sport. This by itself is one motivation as to why I pursue Yoga at all. Yoga is all in all everything. Yoga is great for the body, mind and soul which can and has benefitted millions of people around the world.
4) Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?
A sporting achievement that I'm particularly proud of is gaining the MVP award for the whole Volleyball season during my Middle School year. Other achievements are getting recognition for my leadership and dedication therefore getting the Captain role at my High School Tap Dance Team, and attaining my Teacher Yoga Training Certification.
5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?
Achievements and challenges shape a person and their lifestyle. My achievements have made me feel confident and my challenges have ground me and made me humble. These qualities are essential to be a great sportsperson.
6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?
Even though Simone Biles is not a runner athlete, I would love to jog with her and ask her about her training. How she stays consistent and motivated throughout the whole training process?
7) How do you help people stay motivated?
I stay motivated by keeping in mind how yoga and the movement of the body has healed and improved my life. I want to share that with others, that's what helps me stay motivated.
8) What makes you a Superprof in sports?
My studies, knowledge, certification, personal experiences, and willingness to always stay open minded, stay learning, stay a student no matter the certifications, is what makes me a Superprof in sports.
