About Lucy

I have been giving extensive tutoring to college level students on grammar, literary analysis, creative writing, and reading comprehension for over a year. I have serviced more than 50 students (over 20 of them being returning clients) in the college's Writing Hub, allowing me to gain quick experience in being able to help students with one time projects, or ones that stretch throughout an entire semester. Although I have minimal experience with tutoring children, I have 3 years experience working at summer camps as a lifeguard and kids club operator. This has granted me experience in explaining complex concepts in the simplest ways to maximize understanding in fun ways!

My name is Lucy Fumosa and I am a recent Graduate of Rollins College (class of 2016), a small Liberal Arts College in Winter Park, Florida, with dual majors of English and Environmental Studies. I was born and raised in Sparta, New Jersey and received 12 years of Catholic School education at Reverend Brown Primary School and Pope John XXIII High School. My background of small classes and attentive teachers has inspired me to create a similar learning experience for all. I am patient and take great joy in explaining one complex idea a thousand different ways until my students understand. As Albert Einstein had said, "If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself."
