I am a graduate of LSU (B.A. 2011, B.A. 2013) with experience teaching French and Italian to individual college level students. I am also open to working with middle school and high school students.
I am particularly interested in phonetics, but am of course willing and able to tackle any problems or questions you may have and delve into your specific linguistic interests.
I offer help with writing, reading, and speaking (e.g. practicing for oral exams).
My techniques vary from one student to another, depending on needs and learning style. One element that I feel to be immensely important, however, is developing speaking and listening skills early in the learning process. I feel that often too much emphasis is placed on reading and memorizing vocabulary without any grasp of pronunciation or basic conversation skills.
I began giving private lessons in 2012. I have worked with a variety of students at different levels. I have helped failing students to improve their test scores while also working with more advanced students to refine their understanding of grammar and phonetics.
