Having tutored a variety of knowledge levels, one of my approaches is the Socratic method, where I would guide the students through problems by asking questions that invoke critical thinking. I also believe one of the best ways to learn is through practice, so I ask students to do problems in front of me so that I can find their weaknesses and help them work on them.
