About the lesson
I have been a Special Education teacher for many years. In this role I was responsible for keeping IEP’s current, holding and leading Annual Reviews/Reevaluation meetings, working with the General Education teachers to ensure that the goals are being met and I have also Team Taught with these teachers. As an administrator I was responsible for making sure the teachers were doing what was expected, following the curriculum, hiring staff and evaluating staff. I am not one to stay in an office. I want to be out with the faculty and staff but I also make sure my workload is completed. I am very dedicated and go above and beyond what is expected of me.
Before I went into Education, I worked in retail. I started as a part-time associate at Brooks Fashions and within six months I was promoted to Assistant Manager.
Along with my Education degree, I also obtained a minor in Psychology. I obtained these degrees at Rockford University in 1996. I have dealt with many different mental illnesses and behaviors throughout my positions in Special Education.
