First priority is to understand students' objectives for taking my classes. Then discover what they do and don't know about the subject(s) via interactive dialog. Then, based on the information gathered, propose and outline for the classes and be sure that it is agreeable to the students. After that proceed with presentations, diagrams, analogies, discussions, questions, etc.

As you can see, I have a diverse set of interests and talents. My study of Mathematics led me to work in the Hi-Tech industries where I not only worked on computer systems but became a highly sought after Technical and Organizational Development Instructor having taught classes in the US, Canada, Hong Kong and Korea for Tandem Computers. Later as a technical consultant I worked throughout the US as well as in Canada, Mexico, Korea, Hong Kong, Viet Nam, and Australia. I am effective in diverse cultural environments.
While attending college I began my study of karate which has lasted 54 years at this point. I have taught karate at Florida State University, UC-Davis, Memorex, Tandem Computers, and Intel. I also owned and taught at a professional karate school in Los Gatos, CA. My study of karate led me to training under several Zen masters and this led me to become interested in Psychology, mental health and personal development. I not only obtained my MA in Psychology but had the good fortune to study and/or intern under founders of a form of counseling which recognizes that people are innately healthy but innocently get off track. They can learn what mental health is and how to stay on track. This makes counseling more productive and easier on both the professional and the client. This understanding also applies to team building. For a number of years, I conducted “Eliminating Stress” seminars for Tandem Computers which helped thousands of employees and their spouses. In addition, I worked with struggling teams helping them achieve their goals on time and under budget. I also consulted at a number of Hi-Tech firms and government agencies and worked at a family therapy agency in the Silicon Valley. I also provided training in this “Health Realization” paradigm to other mental health professionals and the general public.
I have also authored a book “Discovery Mode” which addresses many personal and organizational problems.
