I started with Suzuki method when I was a child, so training the ear is very important to me. I also value rhythm and musicality much higher than I value “chops” (although those can be important too). I really just want to guide each student into playing the cello in the way that fits them, both physically and spiritually. I also price my lessons differently based on where I travel to location-wise and the students financial situation. Also I am very willing to travel much more than 10 miles! I have a car and can easily get out of the city if need be.
I am a professional cellist and composer with a performance degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. I am on many recordings, and my ensemble Quartet Davis has an album coming out in a couple months. I have been teaching cello for more than 9 years.
