My teaching approach is to start asking broad knowledge questions and get more specific to gauge the student's level of understanding. If the student has a solid foundation, I will incorporate the foundational concepts they understand with my approach to explaining more specific attributes. For example, if you understand Newton's laws in physics and you're struggling with free body diagrams, I will use Newton's third law to explain why a free-body diagram looks the way it does. This is just one example, however.
I am an engineering student giving private tutoring students in math, sciences (bio, physics, and chemistry), and ACT prep. I got a 33 on my ACT overall, with a 33 in English, 35 in math, a 33 in reading, and a 30 in science. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get your score up and am happy to help! I am a crisis counselor, which means that I am good at communicating. I am also a supplemental instruction (SI) leader, which offers supplemental support to difficult college classes. Currently, I am an SI leader in chemistry. I have experience in dealing with CAD software (specifically SolidWorks). I have about 3 years of experience with SolidWorks. I am capable of taking on problems ranging from calculus based physics (both 1 and 2) to calculus to ACT prep. My experience in teaching and communication diversifies my ability to reach students with different learning styles. I am patient and am more than happy to explain something a second or third time if it's just not clicking. I've also tutored in precalculus and other subjects. I've never received a B in a math class. My math grades from elementary school to linear algebra (which is beyond the series of calculus classes) were all A's. I don't bite and am very patient. Feel free to contact me so we can get started right away. I hope to be able to have the opportunity to work with you, or your child, and give all the help that you or your child require.
Please let me know when you can meet and when you aren't understanding something. I will work with you and don't bite.
