Why am I doing this?
I love tap. My teacher passed on his individual style and was one of my biggest inspirations. I'm excited to pass on my unique style to my own students in the same way. I love the confidence dancing can bring -certainly brought me out of my shell and allowed my personality to shine. I think you can never stop pushing yourself and developing your skillset, and in turn this shapes your own personal development. If you've always wanted to dance, please (even if its not with me) GO FOR IT! It's like nothing else.

Hello and welcome!
Whatever age or ability you are, all you need in my lessons are a pair of taps, and a passion to learn. If you have these things, then I can't wait to dance with you.
My approach:
- We will first assess where you are at through an initial consultation over zoom. It's a great chance for us to meet and to also find out what you would like to gain from our sessions and answer any questions / settle any nerves.
Whatever level you are feedback and guidance will be given constantly and there will be plenty of moments to ask questions. I love students asking questions - so please do!
- Beginners: We will start from the ground up! Beginning with the foundations of tap and giving thorough explanations throughout on technique and approach. This will naturally build over time and with practise.
- Some experience but want to learn more?
We will use the free consult to find out your previous experience. We will recap all the foundations and likely be onto sequences and choreography at a faster rate than beginner. We will drill technical exercises which you can use for practise, and challenge your rhythm, push the light & shade in your steps and introduce quick steps.
- Intermediate/advanced
Less focus on foundations and more likely straight into drilling technical sequences, choreography and exploring different performance styles of tap. I.e - tango, waltz, boogie woogie, lyrical. I will teach you my own style and push you to build your own. We will practise call and response ('having a conversation') and improvisation to music, playing with all the varieties of steps I have taught you.
The aim is that I will not need to teach you forever, but give you the tools and inspiration to have taken what you learn from me, and have the trust that you know it now, and can play.
This is the base structure, however it will change dependent on what a student needs. My aim is to be flexible and cater to the individual to ensure lessons are personal and specific. Let's dance and most importantly have some fun!

Perfect! Charlotte has an exceptional knack for breaking down complicated steps, picking up on nuanced improvements (like hip/toe/heel placement, rhythm, weight shifting), and above all, a wonderful, sunny attitude! And all over Zoom to boot! She asked useful and insightful questions about my current level, my goals, and what would make class most fun. Totally recommend her to anyone and everyone!
Perfect! Really enjoying my lessons with Charlotte.
She’s a great teacher and talented tap dancer herself. She’s quick to notice what I’m doing and what I need to change to get the right sound from my feet and is good at explaining everything and adjusting her lessons to suit how I learn best.Perfect! Charlotte is a very nice and very talented teacher. She has perfectly adapted the Tap lessons for my needs,in the comfort of my house.I have learned a lot with Charlotte.
I highly recommend her.Her lessons worth every penny.Perfect! Absolutely fabulous! Tap dance is a wonderful challenge for brain and coordination and then such a joy when it starts to click. Charlotte is a brilliant coach - methodical, patient and inspiring - looking forward to classes to come.
- Fantastic work with Stephan, so exciting to teach someone who has already done so many different styles and now wants to dip into tap. He picked up the steps very quickly and asked lots of questions and made my job very fun. We want to work on those pick steps, but overall lovely loose ankles and knees which are so integral to the work. Keep practising Stephan, you were great and can only get better!
Perfect! Superb, most importantly a very fun teacher to have! Patient, friendly and makes you want to dance all day long! Highly recommended.
- Alex was wonderful to teach. Great first lesson. He listened and asked lots of questions and therefore picked it up really well. He already has a great sense of rhythm and I’m looking forward to our next lesson already. Super exciting. Thank you Alex!

I bought a tap lesson for my mum from Charlotte, and she was an absolute delight. She was knowledgeable, cooperative, and tailored the session to my mum's limited experience. We were both very impressed, and in awe of her technique, teaching and character!
I was lucky enough to be taught tap by Charlotte recently. Her warm, friendly personality matched with her considerate and dedicated teaching style makes for an excellent class. Would really recommend Charlotte for both beginners or those who have a little more experience and want to hone their craft. Have booked more sessions in and plan to do so regularly.
Charlotte has danced from the age of 3 years and through commitment and determination she has worked through all of her tap grades with amazing results. Her last competition she won the award for the All England Tap Dancer of the year in 2017 at the Hackney Empire London. During lockdown she taught me how to tap dance. She was always patient and we had some fantastic giggles along the way when my feet didn’t seem to do want I wanted them to but we got there in the end. If you want to learn how to tap dance, do a dance workout or if it’s just a bit of fun, Charlotte will make you feel special. She is at her happiest when she is dancing so why not come and join her. With her bubbly enthusiasm and infectious laugh, I’m sure you will love every minute of your lesson.

- I do an introductory chat for 30 mins for free, just to give us a chance to chat and get to know one another before we begin lessons. I do this so we don't eat up any time into the actual teaching.
- I teach online classes (zoom); £35 per hour. Most of my students use this platform as they can dance in the comfort of their home, and I've found it to be very successful. It has allowed me to connect with students as far as Mumbai and Arizona!
