About Tallis
I am a postgraduate student in hydrogeology with a love of sharing knowledge in science and maths. I have over 5 years' experience tutoring, privately, volunteering, and within schools. I try my best to adapt my tutoring to the needs of the students, and have worked with students to achieve some amazing exam results. I've worked with students aged 11 to 19, online and in person, across a wide range of abilities.

I have graduated from Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge with a 2.1, which included studying Maths, Chemistry, Materials Science, and Earth Sciences. In my A-levels, I achieved 5 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and an EPQ and got 9 x 9s in my GCSEs. I have over 5 years of experience tutoring from Year 5 to A-level, including all ranges of abilities, retakes, and students with SEND needs, online and in person. I have a recent enhanced DBS check for tutoring. I adapt my tutoring to the student, but generally work through questions with them, in some cases breaking down specific techniques that a student is struggling with. I prefer lessons to be 45 mins to an hour long. With older students, I am prepared to teach up to 2 hours if the student wants that. I do not do longer lessons as I don't think they are productive for me or the student.
