I like to teach my classes by breaking down technical skills into easy steps and tips while also allowing students the opportunity for self expression. I think it is important that art teachers not only develop interesting projects but also teach tangible skills for different mediums each class. The combination of both technique and expression leads to students developing a personal artistic approach or style.
I am a recent graduate of Hunter College with a Masters in K-12 Visual Arts Education and NY State certification. I have experience in teaching at after schools, camps, and in the general classroom. I have experience with a wide range of disciplines including painting, drawing, ceramics, mixed media, printmaking, photography, graphic design, and fiber arts. I am also extremely comfortable helping with portfolio development for both NYC specialized high schools and art colleges and universities!
Must cancel 24 hours in advance. Please indicate to me if you have your own supplies or would like me to provide them (with sufficient notice so I can purchase them). If I provide the supplies, that price will also be added to the lesson for a fee.
