I am a passionate middle school math teacher. I enjoy the challenge of presenting information in a new way to students who need clarification or a different method to understand. My favorite lessons focus on the applications of the content; I love to answer "why are we learning this?" and revealing how math connects to everyone's passions.
I began my post-university life in the corporate world as an actuary who focused on the real world applications of mathematics. I transitioned to teaching by moving abroad, teaching in both South Korea and Hungary, before returning to the United States. I have spent my last years teaching 5-8 grade, both 8th grade and 9th grade Algebra, to students in NYC. I have also tutored students in all five content levels. This includes exposure to the SHSAT, TACHS, and other NYC high school entrance exams.
Rate reductions are available for students who are looking for support with materials (ie: already have class or SHSAT materials and are looking for explanations or help with assignments).
Cancellations are flexible up to two hours in advance.
