About Meagan

I've been studying French since middle school and tutoring my free time for over a decade. I have two degrees, both focusing on French language and culture and have lived in the country three times. I have experience teaching all ages, as well as have experience teaching ESL students during my time as an English language teacher in Haute-Savoie. I have many years of experience backing my teaching skills and hope that you'll find my lessons go by quickly as they'll feel more entertaining than monotonous.

I don't have a one size fits all approach -- lesson plans and teaching style are all catered to you: your level, goals, and what you'd like to get out of our time together. We'll work as a team; my goal is that you'll end up enjoying learning French just as much as I love teaching it! We'll take it day by day to start. I've lived in both Paris and the Alps, and will encourage learning about the culture just as much as the often boring grammar rules. With me, you won't learn just the typically formal French taught by your high school professor, you'll learn to speak the way the French do - slang and all!

Details

Rates are flexible for low-income students but already discounted here, in my desire to acknowledge students' potential inability to pay my normal rate during the current crisis and some students' inability to meet in person. Loss of quality in virtual lessons isn't something I anticipate but encourage you to do what you feel comfortable with.
