About the lesson
I have been teaching French for 4 years at the German school in Bloomfield. I have also tutored privately from children to teenagers to adults for more than five years here in the United States. I have helped many students not only improve their grades but also develop a true love for the language.
Depending on the needs and level of my students, I have used different approaches to teach the language. I put the emphasis on the speaking by using games, small talk subjects, flash cards and books. I also have a wide variety of French and German literature, magazines and textbooks in my own private library that I use for my lessons.
I am a patient, dedicated and engaging educator who is well qualified to provide the motivation and direction students need to successfully learn.

About Catherine
I grew up partly in Germany, partly in France where I received an outstanding education in both countries. My mother is German and my father is French. I came to Michigan almost 14 years ago. As a French and German native speaker, I do not only share my languages but also engage students in authentic cultural experiences. With a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics acquired at the prestigious “Université Catholique de l’Ouest” in Angers (France), I worked in France as a translator for two years and in Germany as a trilingual executive assistant at Daimler for five years.
I have been teaching French for 4 years at the German school in Bloomfield and tutoring French and German for 5 years.
