I have been doing astronomy work with K-12 groups for 4 years. I have been tutoring students at the college level in our introductory physics class as well.
As a tutor, I like to help students find ways to think about problems not just in a way that can solve one specific problem, but to help them understand patterns that they can apply to other work in the future! As a student myself, I can relate to the frustrations students may have with instruction or material in these Math and Physics courses.
I am a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Astronomy and Physics Education. I have volunteered at the campus planetarium for 4 years now working with students of all ages to learn astronomy and physcis. I have recently begun helping the introductory physics students at the university as part of my degree.
As part of my degree in physics/astronomy, I have taken Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, amongst other classes, all of which help with building on previous math!
