There are a few practices and techniques which I believe are a must. First, after learning a lesson students must be able to derive all proofs and theorems independently. Second, repetition is crucial so I will target weak areas in topics and ask students to repeat until it is perfected. Third, I believe it is important for students to collaborate together and solve problems that may seem too difficult for one student alone. Fourth, I will seek feedback to adjust my teaching styles to match the student's needs.
I am going to be a sophomore at UC Davis this upcoming fall with intention of double majoring in computer science and physics. At Davis I have completed multiple technical courses including vector calculus, c++ programming, and python. In high school I participated in numerous AP and honors courses in math and physics scoring 4 and above on all AP tests. Additionally, I worked as a tutor for Kumon teaching kids from ages 5-12 and volunteered at the Tech Museum teaching kids basic science and engineering skills.
