I would like students to bring about some specific problems that they are having trouble with, so that I can have an emphasis on where to teach. Physics is simply a methodology for modeling and solving a problem. Without sufficient problems and practices, it is hard to grasp the application of the abstract theories. I would explain my own method to solve problems first, and visualize the scenario for my students as clearly as possible by connecting theory and real life, and if possible, find some online simulations that are both fun and useful.
I am a first year university student working towards a major in physics, and maybe another major in Quantitative Sciences. Before entering college, I got 800,800,800 in SAT2 Math Level II, Physics and Chemistry, and A*A*A* in Cambridge International Advanced Level (A Level) Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and A in A Level Further Mathematics. I want to teach my methods of studying to students to consolidate their understanding and improve their grades. Physics is NEVER difficult.
I completed my high school degree in 2020, focusing on Cambridge International A Level Curricula, and am currently enrolled in Emory University to major in Physics and possibly Quantitative Sciences. I am expected to earn a bachelor’s degree in 2024.
In the course of high school, I won many prizes related to mathematics and physics. Apart from scoring nearly perfect in standardized tests of math and physics, I participated in the High School Mathematical Contest of Modeling (HiMCM) in 2018 and won the Meritorious Award. In AAPT PhysicsBowl Contest, I got to Top 10 in Region, and slightly lower than 100 globally. I also participated in many school-held mathematics and physics competitions.
I have previous experience in teaching mathematics to secondary school students, focusing on algebra and geometry. I used to be a tutor on Chegg.com for college level physics and mathematics. Now, I am an active tutor in an education institute that focuses on tutoring high school students high school curricula and standardized tests. Through these experiences, I developed a more rigorous way of explaining concepts to my students and more systematically improve their performance on the subject.
