About Elizabeth

I have a BS degree in English Education and am a certified High School English teacher in the state of Arizona. I love helping students improve their writing abilities. I know how to help people get past the writer' block that happens when you know what you want to say, but you just don't know how to say it. Together, we can build strategies to help you become a better writer.
I know how hard it can be when you sit down to read an assignment and it just isn't making sense. I can help you learn how to become a better reader and improve your reading comprehension.

I have prepared students to succeed on AP literature exams while making the learning experience fun and interesting. I love working with students who are curious about the world.
A typical lesson would consist of:
Read a passage
Write a thoughtful question
Include a quote from the passage
Discuss the question together and explore ideas
Draft an interesting paragraph based on notes from the discussion
Edit and revise the response
Prepare a final draft

As a tutor, I take care to build a rapport with my students so that I can address specific concerns. I can build lessons for any level or class that pertains to English, language arts, or grammar.
