« Tarrell has taught two of my sons. One took her class for sophomore English and the other one took her class for consumer math. She had a good syllabus for each class and if the students didn't understand an assignment or something from class, they were able to ask questions and get feedback. She uses class discussion to really help her students understand the material and to draw them out to see how well they understood the reading or the assignment, etc. I found her communicative and open to feedback. My sons enjoyed her classes and learned a great deal. »

Private teacher and tutor for the San Antonio area. 15 years of teaching all ages in both the private and public school system.

Methodology

I offer a variety of options. The first is the basic tutoring to improve classroom assignments through editing and coaching. The second is a two semester approach to writing and critical thinking. The first eight weeks of the semester is designed to teach and review the basic writing skills with sentence structure and types of papers used in college courses. The second eight weeks of the semester is used to teach analytical writing through Literature. The second option is ideal for homeschool students in high school and equal to an honors class credit.

Background

I have been teaching for over 15 years to all ages. My passion is English and History. Many of my students receive scholarships for their essays because of their learned confidence in their communication and writing skills. They have reported receiving excellent scores for their work in standardize testing. They learn critical thinking skills and effective ways to communicate their ideas and values through their writing.
