Hello everyone, I am a professional Arabic tutor and a certified teacher trainer with 14 years of experience under my belt (face to face & on-line). I am a native from Egypt, and I am very proud to teach my language and my culture. I have an MA in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language and a BA in Media and Mass Communication and I am currently teaching at the American University in Cairo. Ola is the best Arabic professor I've ever had. After 4 years studying Arabic at Stanford University and a summer in Egypt, I've never once found another professor uniquely equipped to explain and inspire growth in her students. Under Ola at the American University in Cairo, I not only learned how Arabic grammar works, but also became a much better writer, speaker, presenter, and reader. Ola challenges her students on all fronts and requires them to succeed, holding them to a high standard and caring about their learning so much that she sacrifices hours and hours of her own personal time preparing specially tailored lessons and taking care of her students. Ola is not just a great professor, she's a great person, willing to go above and beyond to care for her students and ensure they learn. Ola is what every other professor should strive to be and exactly the professor I one day hope to become.
Ola was my professor for a writing class in a summer Arabic intensive. She is serious, professional, and uses class time so very effectively. She not only helped me improve my writing, but also taught me more productive ways of thinking Arabic composition as a practice.
Ola is an excellent teacher who has the ability to teach various Arabic subject for which she always prepared material that meets students' needs and interest. Her students always appreciate her teaching methods and describe her as an amazing teacher.
To whom it may concern,
This is a recommendation letter for Ms. Ola Hashad. Ola has earned her Master’s degree in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language in 2015. Her thesis was entitled “An approach to evaluating the pedagogical value of concordances in Arabic foreign language classrooms: Perspectives from the users”. Being Ola’s teacher in her Methodology and Material Development MA courses and being her first reader in her MA thesis, I can confidently say that she is of a mature, independent and motivated personality. She is also a perfectionist who wants to do everything in the best way, and is always ready to redo her assignments over and over to reach perfection. Although Ola graduated this year, she has been teaching at ALI both as a TAFL fellow and a part time teacher since 2010. Before that, Ola worked as a teacher assistant in New York at Vassar College as well as taught in several schools both in New York and in Egypt. When in ALI, Ola was given classes of international students as well as AUC degree-seeking students. She was also given all levels from elementary to advance to teach. She always welcomed any courses and all responsibilities given to her. In her teaching, Ola used a communicative approach concentrating on proficiency in an eclectic framework. Following are some of her students’ evaluations: “I found that Ola was an excellent teacher that really knows the material well. She is enthusiastic and works very hard to make the classroom a productive work environment for the student. Particularly since the bulk of the course took place during Ramadan, I was impressed that she was able to wake up and work hard even while fasting.”
” Ola was awesome. She went above and beyond for her students.” and “Learned lots from this course. The teacher's openness made it a more comfortable learning environment.
Moreover, Ola has a pleasant personality in the classroom and beyond, thus, possessing the skill to deal with the diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds of all her students.
For all the above, I strongly recommend Ola Hashad to teach at your institution.
