First lessons are like a doctor's visit. I observe breathing, posture, fingerings, embouchure, etc and then start from that point. Sound is very important to me and is what anyone hears first from an instrumentalist. My method is taught from the perspective of the student. I find out what they are familiar with then add from there.
My students enjoy learning. Music gives one joy and direction. My students have gone to conservatories and always rank high in high school district competitions. I have taught all of my life. Too many students to count. I attended University of Michigan and The Juilliard School in flute performance. I have appeared soloist on many recordings, including The Bach Festival Orchestra of Bethlehem.
My rate is much higher but will accommodate those that need a lesser rate. My rate is normally $60 for 45 minutes, but I am VERY flexible. The first lesson will be free and we will get to know each other.
