About Robert

I have been playing guitar for over a decade. In high school, I started my first band that made we want to pursue music professionally. I decided to enroll at the University of Illinois at Chicago to study music and graduated after four years of taking guitar lessons, music classes, performing in jazz, funk, and rock bands, and playing gigs around the city of Chicago. I have taught students privately for over two years, and spent the better part of the last year substitute teaching at Flatts and Sharpe Music Co. in Chicago, IL. I recently relocated to Nashville, TN to further my career, and I find great joy sharing my love for music with others and watching them grow and learn!

I tailor my lessons to the goals and experience of each student. Generally, lessons are broken into two parts, technical studies focusing on technique and musical concepts, and practical studies, learning songs and putting what you've learned into practice. Students will learn concepts such as scales, chords, music theory, and improvisation. Students will also learn a variety of songs starting with ones they want to learn. Whatever you're into, I can show you how to play it!

Details

For lessons in my home studio or via webcam, I charge $25/hr. For lessons at your home or practice space, the hourly rate will be $35/hr to compensate for travel time and costs.
