Professional librarian with BA in English seeking opportunities to help students flourish as writers

Methodology

I approach each assignment or topic as a unique opportunity for both parties to learn something new. I want to provide constructive feedback that gives the student complete confidence in their final product. I will offer proofreading followed by a thoughtful consideration of the language and content. My feedback will be concise and I will explain my thinking every step of the way.

Background

I am a professional librarian with my MA in library and information science and BAs in English and history. I love to write creatively but also have extensive knowledge of grammar and writing styles, academic writing, and research methods. While my background is in history and English, the skills I have gained as a librarian aid me in assisting students with any topic they write about.

Katie has been my go-to any time I need to make a letter or essay sound more professional. She checks for grammar and punctuation but then she digs deeper. She provides tips on the language and phrasing. She helps find citations to back up my case. And she explains all of her suggestions and feedback in detail to ensure I feel confident in what I submit.

Every time I write a paper I have Katie help me edit it and she gives super helpful tips that I’m certain are why I’ve succeeded on all of my papers. She clearly has an impressive knowledge of all things English and is passionate about teaching people who seek help.
