About Nelle June

Vocalist, composer, and improviser Nelle J. Anderson lives between opera, the avant-garde, and the spiritual. She recently debuted with the Grammy Award-winning PARTCH Ensemble as Marilyn Monroe/S in "LSD—Huxley’s Last Trip" (LeBaron), for which she “stunned with her buttery tone” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and co-developed an experimental musical ("BEDROCK" with Ivan Cunningham) as an Oracle Egg Resident Artist. Other roles include Phaino in Kate Soper’s "HERE BE SIRENS"; Anna 1 in Kurt Weill’s "The Seven Deadly Sins"; and Ramiro in the North American tour of "Motezuma" (Vivaldi/Maute) with Juno Award-winning baroque orchestra Ensemble Caprice. A Fulbright Fellowship 2024 Semifinalist, she composes performance art pieces which externalize singers' inner directives and practice-room processes. Her art-pop album "ANY DEAD COQUETTE" (Soubrette, 2021) was called “an outstanding experience” by the Recording Artists Guild. A certified Usui-Holy Fire Reiki Master, she has been facilitating spiritual healings and voice lessons since 2020.
