Music Theory and Ear Training: I believe that "un-internalized music is not worth performing" (parody of Socrates' quote). That means that music is a language that we must understand and speak so well, to the point that it becomes wholeheartedly joyful, makes absolute sense, and it's not an awkward, foreign thing to us. This is why Music Theory must be related to the real, human, organic experience of doing it (through singing and/or the instrument that we "speak" the best with) and is the foundation for a good ear training. I have thorough experience in classical, contemporary, and jazz theory. Related to this area, I'd say, I had earned the "Brainiac Award" by the Music Department at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2019.
Music Composition: given all of the above, the ability to compose would understandably be a natural consequence of such a domain of this "language." The art of composition, however, is a world that is not only perfected by one's own experience, but also by receiving the incredible wisdom that has been passed on to us, so richly, and over many centuries. This is why I can work with both original composition and arranging, for any genre, and even any instrumentation. This includes but is not limited to: pop/rock, jazz, country, classical, choral, and even more complex ensembles for common instrumentation, such as symphonic orchestra, chamber music, marching/concert band, pep band, a horn section, a rhythm section, or smaller/single instrumentations. Related to this area, I won the 1st place of the Orchestral Composition Competition at Trevecca Nazarene University for two years in a row (2019, 2020), and was elected "Composer of The Year" for the whole 2019-2020 class, at the same school.
Piano: This is my main instrument! I started up very intensively by ear. Then, I first studied 4 years of the Concert Pianist program (classical) at Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile, with two renowned pianists (Alexandra Aubert, Ewa Jaskinska). After, I went overseas to study and be intensively mentored for 4 and a half years in Commercial Music-Piano, with remarkable, world-class, jazz musicians. At that school, I had performed A LOT of gigs, as well as becoming one of their accompanists for the vocal students. In the summer of 2019, I was the Piano player of the Spark City Swing Machine band at the Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte, NC. And now... I'm just all over the place playing exciting gigs and teaching students.
I am a professional piano player and instructor for children, adults, and the visually impaired; currently, in Nashville, TN. I studied at Trevecca Nazarene University and have the degrees of (BM) Theory and Composition and (BA) Commercial Music - Piano.

Perfect! I loved that Samuel adapted his teaching style to each of my kids.
The boys have a very good and solid pianistic formation, and their approach to the content reflects the same.
