DMA Voice and PhD Musicology (ABD, 2023) - University of North Texas
My take is that every person has a different instrument, mindset, goal, pace, and sensitivity: no person is the same. I do not believe in "one-size-fits-all" approaches, so I take every case differently.
I generally take the first lesson to get to know the students' goals, preferences, voice, etc., and the first tutoring session as an individual experience.
DMA Voice (minor: music theory, 2023) and PhD Musicology (minor: early music performance. ABD, 2023) - University of North Texas
Previously: MM Voice and MA Musicology (2017, 2018) - University of Missouri
Master's Degree in 'Canto Lirico' (2013) - Conservatorio di Avellino, Italy
BA Philosophy (minor: foreign languages, 2010) - University of Lisbon, Portugal
I have been teaching voice lessons (any level) since 2014; music theory and piano since 2015, both in Missouri (regularly) and in Portugal (intermittently). I've been teaching and tutoring all three subjects in Texas since 2018, and now also on-line.
I can teach in English, Portuguese (Brazil and European), Italian, and Spanish.
In Missouri I taught voice and music theory as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at a University of Missouri and, later, at Mexico Missouri Presser Performing Arts Center. I had a voice studio of ca. 10 students each semester, including of musical theater performers, opera singers, and other musicians.
In the DFW area I have worked at music academies and have my own private studio. I also frequently give individual vocal coaching session, currently on-line only.
Voice lessons and coaching: $50/1h voice lessons, $30/half an hour - any level or style.
For piano lessons,$35/1h lesson, $20/half an hour - beginner/intermediate levels.
For music theory, $30/1h, $15/half an hour - beginner/intermediate levels.
- Discount for "lessons-package" bought in advance pending on the number of lessons purchased.
- If I teach at a students' home, the price varies according to the distance.
- Make-up lessons: min. of 24 in advance (unless in emergency situations).
