About Kristin

I am a professional writer with 20+ years of experience writing for ad agencies, newspapers, magazines, and retailers. I have taught the Institute for Excellence in Writing to middle schoolers and tutored high schoolers through the rigorous Lost Tools of Writing.

I'm a member of Mensa and I love learning in all its forms. I am fascinated by the English language and have also studied French and Latin. I'm a big fan of history from the ancient world to today.

I believe all forms of learning are connected, and once a person develops the tools he needs to learn effectively, he can learn anything with ease.

I also believe that each time a student is exposed to something, it creates a peg on which to hang future knowledge. Soon, thoughts and ideas are hanging from those pegs and connecting to other pegs, creating a complex web of knowledge that equips a student to tackle increasingly complex and interesting material - and do it with a feeling of competence and joyfulness.
