About Elizabeth

A freelance editor for more than 30 years, I have taught classes in creative writing for six years, as well providing one-on-one intensive tutoring for ten years. I have also helped writers overcome blocks and psychological pitfalls associated with the writing process.

As an editor, I was responsible for shepherding more than 100 authors and their manuscripts through all stages of production, from proposal to bound book. I have tutored about 35 students individually, and have taught classes of twelve to twenty students.

As a nonfiction editor my job was to help professional writers improve their book manuscripts; I work closely with students on their own writing so they learn how to compose better sentences and paragraphs, as well as how to structure entire papers. My method is the same as I use with professionals: I ask lots of questions, provide suggestions, and discuss possibilities for changes.
