With a background in English, philosophy, and religious studies, I'm well acquainted with a variety of subjects and types of writing. One of my strengths as a tutor is in my ability to help students understand and complete assignments efficiently without over-complication. When providing writing assistance, I not only help students with grammar and syntax but will also offer insight on the content, structure, and overall quality of the essay without intruding on the integrity of the student's work. My skills are proofreading, editing, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. I aim to be exceedingly thorough in every lesson to not only help students complete assignments but also develop their writing skills. One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my ability to impart knowledge while also helping students complete specific assignments. Moreover, I can adapt to whatever needs the student might have.
The difference between a good student and a great student is in how much initiative they display to not only succeed but excel. The difference between a good tutor and a great tutor is in their ability to encourage that initiative and help students achieve their academic goals. With the help of an experienced and enthusiastic tutor, good students can become great students.
Over several years of providing writing and English tutoring, I have had the opportunity to help many students excel academically. Currently, I am employed as a professional writing and English tutor at High Point University and Guilford Technical Community College. At both institutions, I work with a wide variety of students in subjects ranging from English and history to psychology and philosophy. I enjoy helping students with all aspects of the writing process, but my primary focus in any session is to help students complete assignments or accomplish whatever learning goal they may have.
Every student has the ability to not only succeed but excel. Sometimes, this means they need help completing assignments or developing as a writer or thinker. As a professional tutor with several years of experience, I seek to provide students with the tools necessary to achieve their academic goals. My primary goal for any session is to be productive and attain the best possible outcome for any given assignment.
