My personal philosophy is that learning can and should be fun. My job as an educator is show my students that the material I teach, whether a novel from the 18th Century, a poem about WWII or a short story about seemingly insignificant events, contains life and value. I understand, having been a student myself for many years, that there are as many learning styles as there are students. I aim, above all else, to accommodate each and every one so that all my students have access to an education.
I am a Professor of American Literature. I teach at the college level, but also have a background in English education, grades 7-12. I earned my Masters degree in American Literature from the University of New Orleans in 2014. I have worked students at Community Colleges, high schools and preschoolers. My experience educating a wide range of students with various levels of education, as well as an environment that is consistently changing, offers the opportunity for accessibility to all.
