I try to create lesson plans that will cater to the student's individual educational needs and learning style. I have been working for my local school districts as an Elementary School Teacher for the past 5 years.
I have working as a Reading Tutor for about 3 years and main focus is on students in grades (Pre-K to 5th Grade) who are reading below their required grade level. I have focus on building up students' basic reading skills like phonics skills and phonemic awareness skills. I tailor my lesson plans based on the student's current reading skills. ļ§ 5th Grade Hidden Figures Project- Students had to pretend they were a notable person from the Revolutionary War Period. Students had to conduct research on the notable person (childhood, early adulthood, old age, and what role did the individual during the Revolutionary War). We had a āWax Museum of Hidden Figures Dayā where the 5th Graders dressed up as their selected notable person and other students (from other grades) in the school walked around to each 5th Grader to learn more about the notable person the 5th Graders were portraying.
ļ§ 5th Grade Black History Quilt- Students had to pick a notable black person to celebrate Black History Month. Students had to conduct research on the famous black individual (childhood, early adulthood, old age, and what the individual is known for). The students had to draw a picture of the notable black person and write 3 important facts about their individual. Then, all the studentsā pictures were placed on construction paper and laminated to look like a āfamilyā quilt.
