SPECIAL PROJECTS

 Wit & Wisdom Module 1 – For the final project, students created a poster of their favorite season. To showcase the student’s artwork, planned an art exhibition which students’ families and other teaching faculty attended. 12/18

 Wit & Wisdom Module 2 - For the final project students created a diorama focusing on either the day in the life of a pioneer child or Indian child. To showcase the student’s artwork, planned an art exhibition which students’ families and other teaching faculty attended. 02/19

 Wit & Wisdom Module 3 - For the final project students wrote a story on what they dream to be in the future. The students had to draw a picture to go along with the story. The stories were published in a book "I Have a Dream Too!" 04/19

 5th Grade Hidden Figures Project- Students had to pretend they were a notable person from the Revolutionary War Period. Students had to conduct research on the notable person (childhood, early adulthood, old age, and what role did the individual during the Revolutionary War). We had a “Wax Museum of Hidden Figures Day” where the 5th Graders dressed up as their selected notable person and other students (from other grades) in the school walked around to each 5th Grader to learn more about the notable person the 5th Graders were portraying.

 5th Grade Black History Quilt- Students had to pick a notable black person to celebrate Black History Month. Students had to conduct research on the famous black individual (childhood, early adulthood, old age, and what the individual is known for). The students had to draw a picture of the notable black person and write 3 important facts about their individual. Then, all the students’ pictures were placed on construction paper and laminated to look like a “family” quilt.
