About the lesson

My teaching method is based on questions. I find that if you work through the steps to reach the answer yourself, you are more likely to be able to do it again. I always learned best when my teachers lead me to the answer through questioning. The results are even better when the student or tutee asks his or her own questions as well. I like to use examples that relate to the interests of the students so the concepts are grounded in something that already makes sense.

I have been a chemist with the Navy for 1.5 years. I graduated from Roanoke College in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry and Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I was a college-level chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, statistics and Chinese tutor while I was in college. The majority of my sessions were chemistry and mathematics.

Rates listed are for high school- and college-level. If session is for a lower grade level, all sessions will be $12/hr. I will charge no cancellation fee if the lesson is cancelled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson. If cancelled the day of, I will charge a $10 cancellation fee.
